ORIGINS | New Series in August

Origins Series 16x9.png

In the beginning….

That’s how the Bible begins. What follows is a fruitful world of flourishing, that was thoughtfully and creatively spoken into existence by God. Humankind was formed with intention and dignity. The first people are given purpose, power and space to be productive by their Creator. They live in harmony with each other and without shame about themselves.

Listen to the series:

Right now our culture is asking all sorts of questions about identity, relationships and sexuality. The answers to these questions are constantly shifting, because questions about identity, relationships and sexuality are really questions about what it means to be human. They are questions about what it means to be a fully flourishing human being in this world.

But we can’t flourish if we don’t know who we are. We can’t understand who we are, unless we know where we come from. We can’t flourish in our identity, our relationships, or our sexuality, unless we understand our ORIGINS.

In the midst of those questions, we come to this story in Genesis 1-3. A creation story. A story that starts this way….In the beginning. A story of origins.

In the Origins Series, we will tour through the first three chapters of Scripture, bringing our culture’s questions about identity, relationships and sexuality to this story of the first human beings. Though we won’t get to every question that everyone has, we’ll do our best to be straight-forward with what we learn from the story. As we learn, we’ll build a foundation for understanding what the rest of the Bible teaches about identity, relationships and sexuality.

The Origins Series will benefit Christians who are not sure what God thinks (or how they should think) about the cultural changes around identity, relationships and sexuality. The series would also benefit people who are not Christians, and may have opinions about these topics, but are curious to learn what the Bible actually teaches or interested in hearing another opinion.

See you Sunday at 10:30am.
